The House approved a certificate deeming local celebrity Marty the Moose the most "eligible bachelor" for Valentine's Day.

The Meat Inspection Act garnered unanimous support from the New Mexico House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon.

The state budget bill is likely to be heard by a key committee Sunday, while a bill to fund 65 water projects statewide has passed the House. 

The Senate approved a bipartisan bill that would give the state Livestock Board authority over the quality of meat and poultry and honored its longest-serving member of the chamber — Sen. Pete Campos, D-Las Vegas.

The state Ethics Commission settled two complaints with officials, while bills limiting the governor's executive orders during an emergency and making administrative and eligibility changes to state-run scholarships advanced through committees.
